Who is Christina?
I'm a career journalist specializing in product reviews, gift guides, and lifestyle. I've been on staff and regularly contributed to many national publications and high-profile platforms, including Woman's Day, Livestrong, EatingWell, Family Circle, Scholastic, The Knot, Reader's Digest, Parents, and CNN. I've appeared on TODAY, Good Morning America, and The View sharing my product picks and shopping tips. A lifelong New Yorker recently and happily settled in the Midwest, my three grown kids remind me that no matter how old your children get, you never stop being a mom. (And that you never stop being intensely grateful you are.) My family includes a handsome gray cat who is so skittish that he hides from wayward crickets in the laundry room and a wee floofy dog who sleeps next to my head. Every day I have an urge to share the fun, fabulous goodies I find in my day-to-day work.
What you’ll see here, and what you won’t
I have dedicated most of my 25-year career, on staff at national and regional magazines and in my extensive freelance work, to shopping guides and product reviews. I’m not crazy about the term influencer. Who wants to be influenced, at least by someone who isn’t a friend? I’m a product curator. I’m here making it easier for women like me – busy, savvy ladies who try their best to feel good, look good, and occasionally spoil those they love – to find new, worthy goodies.
Every product I include here works really well, solves a little problem, or just makes me smile, sometimes all three. And it has to be a decent value – nothing ridiculously priced for what it is. I won’t tell you about a product unless I have positive personal experience with it. That means that some categories are out. I won’t pretend to know about stuff that I don’t, like tech beyond a phone case or home gym equipment or beer, to name a few. Beauty goodies are one of my favorites to try, but I’m not going to review anything that takes extended, consistent use to show results. And most skincare products aimed at women our age do. For me to be able to assess how well a dark-spot fader or a line eliminator or a skin tightener really works, I’d have to use it – and no other products on my face – for at least a month, maybe three. That’s just not practical, let’s face it.
I’d be tickled to hear your questions and opinions (or ideas on what to check out next)! Send it on at christina@goodiesfound.com
