These sunny treats from Hawaiian chocolate brand Koho make a luxe gift that really can’t fail. The ingredients are authentic through and through starting with Hawaii-grown cacao.
This unique gift set of 12 artisanal bon bons is almost too pretty to eat. The box is full of the brand’s newest flavors: Hibiscus Caramel, Vanilla Kona Latte Caramel, Hawaiian Sea Salt Caramel, Coconut Caramel, Guava Caramel, and Liliko‘i (passionfruit) Caramel. The speckly designs are done by hand. Again: almost too pretty to eat. They just look and taste like an indulgence, a real treat. You can be virtually certain that your giftee won’t have received these before. (Unless, you know, they have a timeshare in Hawaii. In which case, they’ll say, I love these! How did you find them?) Koho ships all their products with ice packs, so no worries there, even in the summer.
Among their other decadent giftables: Milk Chocolate Covered Macadamias. The crunchy, buttery nuts are from The Big Island and are coated one layer at a time using a traditional panning method. The Voyager box includes Kona Coffee Caramels made with coffee grown in volcanic soil on the Big Island and sweet-and-punchy Mango Ginger Caramels.
I was never sure what bon bons were exactly, only that women with rich husbands used to sit around eating them all day, apparently. Now I know: a dome shaped chocolate shell with a creamy center.
Even the name makes this gift feel fancy schmancy.
