Dogs are den animals, and so like to have their own cozy and secure spot. This is perhaps even more true for the littlest puppers. A comfy dog bed is a must, unless you like your dog hogging the covers in your bed. Aside from being comfortable for your canine companion, dog beds should be easy to clean, because, well, dogs go in them. It should have a non-slip bottom of some sort if you’re going to put it on a hard floor, so that it doesn’t slide around. And–this is usually a lot to ask–it should look nice in your home, and not cost a fortune.

(I’d let it air dry rather than putting it in the dryer, though.)  

This bed also works nicely as a gift for cats. It comes in three sizes, XS for kittens or a normal size cat, S for bigger cats and toy breed dogs, and M for slightly bigger dogs or two normal size cats. My Pomeranian, Peach, fits just right in a size S. It comes in four colors: gray, a powder blue, a light springy green shade, and purple, which is really more lavender. I’m partial to the gray, just because it goes best with the color scheme of my home, but the purple is actually really pretty too.
