Pet parents, have you heard of Crown & Paw? It’s an amazing company. They specialize in custom pet portraits. You send in a picture of your pet, and their artists come up with a one-of-a-kind, framed work of art. They’re beautiful and modern.
We had one made of our calico, Jub Jub, about a year ago. They totally captured her knowing look. We lost Jub Jub recently. That portrait is hanging in a room I don’t go in every day, but when I stumbled upon it shortly after she left us … yes, there were tears. But I was so glad we had it. Of course we have tons pictures of Jubs, on our phones and on social. But that portrait was a whole other thing. It’s pretty much priceless now.
They send you a proof (fast, within two days) for you to approve, and if it’s not quite right, they make whatever changes you want until you’re thrilled. And they don’t just do cats and dogs. Any pet can be immortalized this way … a horse, a bunny, a hamster, a bird. I think I even saw a hedgehog portrait on their site. You can customize the finished product with your pet’s name, and then with your choice of three sizes and three different types of frames. Bonus: a portion of your purchase goes to support animal shelters across the country. Love that.
When I saw they launched an assortment of Halloween-y portraits, oh my gosh … too funny! Jubs would have made the perfect vampiress. But I’m thinking our other cat, Chungus, a regal gray fellow, may be pumpkin hat material.
You can’t go wrong with a minimalist piece of artwork that showcases your beloved fur baby donning a pumpkin hat. A Grumpy Cat-esque feline here would be hysterical. This is destined to be your favorite Halloween decoration for years to come.
This one adds the bewitching backdrop of a haunted house behind your fur angel’s visage. The colors are seasonal, but still a bit punchy–definitely an eye-catching choice. Be prepared for everyone at your Halloween party to ask where you got it.
Behold! That sly sophisticate, your kitty or poochie, is adorned with the iconic cape and collar. The fangs put this over the top.
This personalized painting captures your furry friend’s transformation into the eerie Pennywise. To be honest, I had to look up who Pennywise was. Apparently he’s a creepy clown dreamed up by Stephen King. Regardless, this showpiece will vibe more sweet than scary.
