When puzzling over a housewarming or hostess gift, countertop spray, dish soap, hand soap, linen or room spray, laundry detergent, and fabric softener probably never occurs to you.
But now they may. Your recipient will be tickled, because they have to buy it all anyway and you’re treating them to the good stuff. The phenomenal scents are a major part of what makes the Caldrea line the good stuff. Many of them are seasonal. It’s somewhat subjective, but I’d say the summer scents are Lavender Cedar Leaf, Orange Blossom Bamboo, Rosewater Driftwood, Sea Salt Neroli, Tangelo Palm Frond. At the holidays and during the winter, Gilded Balsam Birch and Juniper Laurel Mint are amazing. For year-round bliss, consider Basil Blue Sage, Pear Blossom Agave, Ginger Pomelo, or Vanilla Quince Santal.
My own favorite, which I’ve been using all spring, is the delicately scented Sweet Pea. The dish soap is frothy. The countertop spray does what it’s supposed to. The hand soap leaves skin soft, not dry. And the bottles are so pretty, I feel like my kitchen is fancy – or shabby chic, at least. They’re effective and enjoyable to use and decorative sitting out (said no supermarket product ever).
Mix and match to make up a completely customized gift. (They also have beautiful candles.) Tuck your picks into a gift basket they can reuse for all sorts of things. You’re good to go, and they’ll be grateful.
Just so you know, Caldrea’s eco game is strong: the heavenly fragrances are courtesy of essential oils from flowers and herbs. They never use parabens, phthalates, ammonia, chlorine, phosphates, or petroleum distillates; The bottles contain 25 percent post-consumer recycled material and can be recycled. Caldrea is a member of the Roundtable for Sustainable Palm Oil and the Conservation Alliance and are Leaping Bunny Certified.
All in all, it’s a fresh idea for a legitimately thoughtful gift.
